As our fund-raising thermometer for St James' "New Beginnings Church Development Project" climbs evermore skywards our excitement grows with it! We are truly amazed and so thankful to the community for their efforts. 

Our latest fund raiser was a talk given by David & Beryl Cummings at Christleton Parish Hall on Saturday 11th October. The talk given by David was in memory of the late former Headmaster of Christleton High School, Mr Phil Hodges and his wife Pat. The talk was also about the history, wildlife and scenery of the Isles of Scilly. This event was very well attended indeed. The amounts raised have so far been calculated at £930. Mr Hodges was also a very keen artist and has been involved in providing artwork for a number of local publications for many years. Additionally,  some of his works are still being sold. We await the final figures, and would expect the final to be a little over a thousand pounds which is an extraordinary effort.
