Perhaps we have read the news about staggering numbers of children going without meals during the week and without presents at Christmas. We long for change, the coming of God's kingdom, and as part of that change we collected a large number of toys for the KidsBank to start Advent. A huge thank you to the community of St James or their generosity, and to Mike and Janet for delivering them.
Please to spread the word, and connect with and support the KidsBank.
I'm going to reflect on chapter 4 of the Rule of St Benedict this week to help get ready for Jesus this Advent after John the Baptist's ministry in Mark 1.2-8.
The image I have is of looking up to the hill where our Father is standing. His loving gaze sees me, his arms move wide open, and he starts running towards me to take me to the feast he has prepared. It will be a moment of joy, a moment of healing to be received. It will be as necessary as the Oxygen I breath. Thanks be to God.
Come and see says Jesus.
