Baptisms

Please complete the application to request baptism in the parish of Christleton. You have a legal right to be baptised in the parish in which you reside or in the parish whose electoral roll you are on.

Marriages

You are entitled to be married at St James, if you can evidence a qualifying connection (QC). A QC means that one of the couple either:

  • was baptised in the parish
  • was prepared for confirmation in the parish
  • lives in the parish
  • is on the church's electoral roll
  • has at any time lived in the parish for a period of at least 6 months
  • has habitually attended normal church services in the parish church for a period of at least 6 months

one of their parents, at any time after they were born:

  • has lived in the parish for a period of at least 6 months
  • has any any time habitually attended normal church services in the parish church for a period of at least 6 months

one of their parents or grandparents:

  • was married in the parish

If you can establish a QC then the next step is to complete the marriage application to establish a provisional wedding date and discuss the ensuing process.


Make Application

Funerals

You have a legal right to be buried or interred in the parish churchyard if you are a current resident of the parish or are on the church's electoral roll (which means you are an active participating member of the worshipping community). If you wish to request a church service and or burial, burial of ashes, or crematorium service please ask your funeral director to complete the funeral application.
